ePOP is proud to present in Masterclass, Grammy Award-Winning Metropolitan Opera Star, Kenneth Overton. Join us at The Academy of Vocal Arts’ Helen Corning Warden Theater on Saturday, November 21st at 2pm for what promises to be an incredible afternoon of singing and learning as Kenneth works with vocalists from our community.

ABOUT KENNETH OVERTON
Kenneth Overton is lauded for blending his opulent baritone with magnetic, varied portrayals that seemingly “emanate from deep within body and soul.” Kenneth Overton’s symphonious baritone voice has sent him around the globe, making him one of the most sought-after opera singers of his generation. Kenneth is a 2020 GRAMMY AWARD WINNER for Best Choral Performance in the title role of Richard Danielpour’s The Passion of Yeshua with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus, conducted by JoAnn Falletta.
This season, Overton will lead two productions for the Welsh National Opera’s new season. The new work Migrations, and in the world premiere of The Shoemaker. Overton will reprise his most celebrated role in Porgy and Bess as Porgy, co-produced by Opera Carolina and North Carolina Opera. Concert engagements will include Handel’s Messiah at the University of Chicago’s Rockefeller Chapel, a concert staging of Porgy and Bess with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra in Hamburg, a solo recital for the African American Music Festival at Pennsylvania State University, a solo recital with the Howland Chamber Music Circle, Mahler’s Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen for the Spartanburg Philharmonic, and a return to The Kennedy Center with The Washington Chorus as the soloist for Duruflé's Requiem and Undine Smith Moore’s Scenes from the Life of a Martyr.
Artist Biographies
Aurelien Eulert, pianist
Hailing from Alsace, France, ePOP Music Director Aurelien Eulert made his U.S. house debut in 2014 with Palm Beach Opera as diction coach for their production of Les contes d’Hoffmann and head coach for the Young Artist Program. He has been on the music staff of Charlottesville Opera, Opera Memphis, Opera Roanoke, Palm Beach Opera, Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, USC Thornton Opera, UCLA Alpert School of Music, Pacific Opera Project and the Los Angeles Opera Education department. Aurelien has played for acclaimed singers such as Marilyn Horne, Phyllis Curtin, Dawn Upshaw, Frederica von Stade and Rod Gilfry. He has assisted and performed under conductors such as James Conlon, Robert Spano and John Williams. In 2019, Aurelien was named Head of Music Staff at OperaDelaware, and oversaw the company’s Young Artist Program. He had previously held the position of Chorus Master and Principal Pianist since 2017. Recent seasons included a return to the theatre stage with OperaDelaware and Opera Baltimore, his debut with Opera Southwest for Pelléas et Mélisande, and debuts with Opera Philadelphia and Intermountain Opera Bozeman. Aurelien holds degrees from the Conservatoire National de Strasbourg, Syracuse University, and the University of Southern California.
